Learning not assuming

by Amber
(Ohio)

I started cleaning vacant apartments. Then added the maintenance , or punchwork to turn them over and now I've taken on painting. I've done spot painting from time to time.

My first two units side by side slanted ceiling and walls. One bedroom and a two bedroom. My friend and I took this painting thing on knowing it would be trial and error. Plus my dad runs the complex and my boyfriend has painted lots throughout the years. Plus with it being slow season i knew i had no deadlines and practice makes perfect.

As i wake up in a vacant unit this morning with blanket and pillow on the floor and the bucket of paint beside me, reminding me that its time to work. Dad, boyfriend, and my coworker no where as of now. Just me.

After assuming that coats of paint mattered most, I soon realized its not so much the coats at all. It's the way you roll the wall and the roller you use. It's realizing that you need to do some research and learning yourself.

I have web searched my heart out. I've been told I'm obsessive by my coworker who I've found turning in invoices means more then mastering a technique that will increase business and our knowledge. It will only be mastered overtime this I know.

Of all the sites I've been on, yours takes the cake. I didn't feel lost with your site. You are awesome. Thank you!
